Job Summary
Looking for driven individuals to perform installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of audiovisual and automation systems for commercial clients. This is not an AV event company but a professional AV installation service. Applicants should be motivated self-starters, capable of working independently or leading a team.
Responsibilities
• Read drawings and architectural plans.
• Wire pulling in new and existing construction.
• Install structured cabling: cat5e/6, video, RGB, HDMI, DVI, and audio cables.
• Fabricate AV racks and install all AV equipment.
• Mount flat panel displays, projectors, and motorized screens.
• Design and build AV racks.
• Install, test, and commission custom AV control systems.
• Diagnose and resolve issues related to integrated AV systems.
• Work with deadlines and manage projects effectively.
• Train customers on installed systems.
Requirements
• Minimum 3 years of direct experience with AV systems.
• CTS certification preferred but not required.
• Strong understanding of architectural, electrical, structural & AV drawings.
• Experience in terminating RCA, RJ45, DB9, HD15 connectors.
• Structured cabling experience required.
• Knowledge of signal flow for audio, video, and control systems.
• Experience with Crestron, Extron, and AMX control systems.
• Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs.
• Reliable transportation and willingness to travel (DC, VA, MD).
• Basic English reading and writing proficiency.

• Proficiency with trade tools and adherence to safety standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Conduct site surveys and report environmental considerations to the design team.
• Stage and install multi-room AV systems, coordinating with trades and IT personnel.
• Train field specialists on new products and AV standards.
• Ensure installations align with the Statement of Work (SOW) and provide updates to the Project Manager.
• Utilize room commissioning toolkits for complex installations.
• Work with programmers to install control systems (Crestron, Extron, AMX).
• Debug control systems, configure video scalers and DSP settings.
• Deliver user and technical training on installed systems.
• Submit as-built drawings, configuration backups, and site photos.
• Lead project implementations and supervise field specialists.
• Escalate client issues and provide timely notifications.
• Maintain professionalism and technical knowledge in IP networking.

• Stay updated with the latest AV technologies and industry standards.
• Continuously improve skills through training and certifications.
Qualifications
• 4-6 years of experience in professional AV installations.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean record.
• Expertise in audio and video conferencing system installations.
• Knowledge of VoIP and analog phone systems.
• Certifications preferred:
• Crestron Digital Media Certification
• Biamp Tesira Certification
• Infocomm CTS-I Certification
• OSHA Certification
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Ability to work in high-pressure environments and travel frequently.
Physical Requirements

• Remote travel (10-30%) for large projects.
• Occasional airplane travel for out-of-town installations.
